Wanderlust

All the roads we have to walk are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
But I don't know how

Because maybe
It's my wanderlust

I took the liberty to play with one of my favorite song's lyrics - BTW, tks Noel - to celebrate my much earned and yearned days off. According to Gallagher, "Wonderwall" describes "an imaginary friend who's gonna come and save you from yourself" (wiki). That's exactly what I need: to be saved from my loved golden cage.

I'm visiting the Milan Design Fair for the first time and I have many great expectations. As a 'generalist architect' I deal with the cards I get, meaning, I can design a whole house or a living room or a lobby or a clothes' store. Being a generalist makes us crave for all the imput we can get, in all fields. Sometimes the best way is to live the experience.

That's what I'm going for in Italy: a bit of everything.

As my hobby as a writer keeps embodying, my crave for the whole wide world is ever so strong. Now I want to see different people, try different situations, experience different cultures to - who knows - let another story grow and gain space in my MSOffice pages.

In another words: WANDERLUST.

So right now I took a few minutes off preparing and packing to share this delicious moment with you.

My passport is at hand, already bought Euros (OMG! R$ 1,00 = E$ 2,72!! Poor me here, starving me in Europe!), saved all tips from Keviagem and Fuorisalone, got my winter clothes washed, bought myself a pair of very cute leather gloves, fished my Cacharel bag out of my bags' closet... Yay! To the airport it is!

I resisted buying a new crossbody bag even though it was cuter than cute in favor of doing so in Milan. How much glamour is that? My Cacharel bag is profit from an impromptu romantic weekend in Buenos Aires a few years ago and in spite of my hubs hurrying me out of such a designer's shop on sale, I got myself a good for all ocasions cute and handy shoulder bag that now has borrowed a crossbody strap from another bag.

I love bags. Have I mentioned that? I do. That's my Achilles' heels...
*sigh*

Anyway, off to Milan with me. Will shop for Austen memorabilia for Hot Rio Chick's anniversary giveaway. Will let you know what I came up with.

And for Image and Likeness... can't say how frustrating it is to get over 1000 views and not one comment!... You guys want to kill me!

See you soon?

Golden cage

Hi there!

Lizzy is in turmoil and Darcy is decided to put pressure.

It´s Pemberley!

How William Darcy persuaded Lizzy Bennett to love again is getting to its final moments and Lizzy is getting really scared. She senses that a time for a decision is drawing close, the rope is getting tighter, and she´s not liking the situation. Although she loves Darcy.
Everyone has had a fork in their roads - maybe there will be many others still - and it's never an easy moment. Decisions taking, paths choosing, life altering. Nope, not easy at all.

O amor é isso. Não prende, não aperta, não sufoca.
Porque quando vira nó, já deixou de ser laço.

Mário Quintana was a master of words, I´m just a fan. Not sure his poetry is really eloquent in my translation.

Love is like this. It doesn't arrest, doesn't press, doesn't choke.
Because when it turns into a knot, it's no longer a bond.

I've talked about Lost in translation before, and I always feared getting lost in translation myself. What if I just can´t take a decision and life runs me over? What if I loose my slot? Oh, crap.

These pressured moments are worst when we find ourselves locked in golden cages. Perfect places, lovely situations, hot dates, our own minds... and yet it's no good.

I always thought about Pemberley as the ultimate golden cage in Pride and Prejudice. Darcy's homeland, huge and object of envy but that tied him up. The fact that he spends most of the book away from it, to me, shows that he both loves it and shies away from its restrictions. I´m of the thought that, if not for his father's early death, Mr Darcy would be a playboy cruising his youth untill the time he would have to face the landlord duties. So,

Pemberley = Darcy´s golden cage

In my fanfic, it's also Lizzy's.

Sigh...
Anyone else lost? Doesn't know what to do?

Let's wait and see...
