Musical Post 9 - I choose you

Sara Beirelles is like Colbie Caillat to me, I like amost anything they sing. And sometimes, depending on the stage of effort I am in my run, I'm not sure which voice is coming from my ipod.

And both have inspired me on my writings more than once. It's like my muse dreams of their muse as companion.

This Sara song - I choose you - is so lovely, it has everything to do with the last book I wrote, the closing romance for my first series - the modern fairytales.

Let just enjoy the soft voice and romantic lyrics.

Let the bough break, let it come down crashing
Let the sun fade out to a dark sky
I can't say I'd even notice it was absent
'Cause I could live by the light in your eyes
I'll unfold before you
Would have strung together
The very first words of a lifelong love letter
Tell the world that we finally got it all right
I choose
you
I will become yours and you will become mine
I choose
you
I choose
You, yeah
There was a time when I would have believed them
If they told me that you could not come true
Just love's illusion
But then you found me
And everything changed
And I believe in something again
My whole heart
Will be yours forever
This is a beautiful start
To a lifelong love letter
Tell the world that we finally got it all right
I choose
You
I will become yours and you will become mine
I choose
You
I choose
You
We are not perfect we'll learn from our mistakes
And as long as it takes I will prove my love to you
I am not scared of the elements I am underprepared,
But I am willing
And even better
I get to be the other half of you
Tell the world that we finally got it all right
I choose
You, yeah
I will become yours and you will become mine
I choose
You

Musical post 8 - Shine

Hi,
Here's another song that got me for a verse - in this case a lovely foursome of verses.

I wanna be the one you steal, you shield,
that your love can heal.
Aww... lovely isn't it?
I could easily write a good scene based on this.

The song is Shine by Years&years and as I own an Ipod shuffle, I never see faces or read names which prevents unnecessary prejudice. Frequently I get surprised by the artists that get my heart.
This is the case.

Here's the lyrics.
I remember us alone
Waiting for the light to go
Don't you feel that hunger
I've got, so many secrets to show
When I saw you on that stage
I shiver with the look you gave
Don't you hear that rhythm, can you
Show me how we can escape

I was biting my tongue
I was trying to hide
(Ooh oh oh oh, ooh oh oh ooh)
I'll forget what I've done
I'll be redefined

It's shaking the sky
And I'm following lightning
I'll recover if you keep me alive
Don't leave me behind
Can you see me I'm shining
And it's you that I've been waiting to find
I'm holding it all tonight
I'm folding it all tonight
You know that you make it shine
And it's you that I've been waiting to find
I'm holding it all tonight
I'm folding it all tonight
You know that you make it shine
It's you that I've been waiting to find

Now that we can hear that sound
Now that you can hold me down
You can pull me under
You can raise everything to the ground
Everything I can arrange,
Every part of me you change
Just hold me together, tell me
You'll always want me to stay

I was biting my tongue
I was trying to hide
(Ooh oh oh oh, oh oh oh ooh)
I'll forget what I've done
I'll be redefined

It's shaking the sky
And I'm following lightning
I'll recover if you keep me alive
Don't leave me behind
Can you see me I'm shining
And it's you that I've been waiting to find

I wanna be the one you steal
I wanna be the one you shield
I wanna be the one
That your love, that your love
Can heal
I wanna be the one you steal
I wanna be the one you shield
I wanna be the one
That you'll love, that you'll love

It's shaking the sky
And I'm following lightning
I'll recover if you keep me alive
Don't leave me behind
Can you see me I'm shining
And it's you that I've been waiting to find
I'm holding it all tonight
I'm folding it all tonight

You know that you make it shine
It's you that I've be waiting to find
I'm holding it all tonight
I'm folding it all tonight
You know that you make it shine
It's you that I've be waiting to find
It's you that I've be waiting to find

It's you that I've been waiting to find

Musical Post 7: Let me love you

So, as I sweat away every morning running while the sun rises behind the Sugar Loaf Mountain (yeah, like a boss, right?), my Ipad fills my ears with lovely songs that I chose at some point. As I download several each time, some are happy surprises as 'Let me love you'.

At first I frowned thinking: 'this sounds like Bieber... How odd!'
It is him, with a very cool DJ Snake tune and at least two amazing lines:
1- burning on the edge of something beautiful
2- driving the edge of the knife

Cool, right?
I could write a whole story based on these two lines.

Let me love you

I used to believe
We were burning on the edge of something beautiful
Something beautiful
Selling a dream
Smoke and mirrors keep us waiting on a miracle
On a miracle

Say, go through the darkest of days
Heaven's a heartbreak away
Never let you go, never let me down
Oh, it's been a hell of a ride
Driving the edge of a knife
Never let you go, never let me down

Don't you give up, nah-nah-nah
I won't give up, nah-nah-nah
Let me love you (Let me love you)
Let me love you (Let me love you)
Don't you give up, nah-nah-nah
I won't give up, nah-nah-nah
Let me love you (Let me love you)
Let me love you

Don't fall asleep
At the wheel, we've got a million miles ahead of us
Miles ahead of us
All that we need
Is a rude awakening to know we're good enough
Know we're good enough

Say go through the darkest of days
Heaven's a heartbreak away
Never let you go, never let me down
Oh, it's been a hell of a ride
Driving the edge of a knife
Never let you go, never let me down

Don't you give up
I won't give up
Let me love you

(another) DIZZIE playlist

hi there!

so, these days we've been dragged into the wave of overwhelming love due to the end of Pride and Prejudice in The Lizzie Bennet Diaries.
darcy and lizzie episode 99 love
The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, cutest of the cute episode 99.

The cute girls who build the amazing Socially awkward Darcy put together a playlist and well...
I do love a playlist.
It's already downloaded and loaded into my mp3 player. Tomorrow I'll be running with Dizzie again. Yay! You know what it usually means, don't ya?

So, here are the links for the Socially Awkward Darcy's Ultimate Fandom Dizzie playlist divided in 2 parts on 8 tracks
Part 1  and  Part 2

I added a few songs of my own, like Maxwel's songs (the ones he does Collins parodies). Well, I have been a sucker for Rick Astley for at least 25 years...
Aw, old me!
And then some other good songs that were suggested but were cut from the final playlist. And some more that I love and always remind me of ODC.

Here are them (all):

1.       Be still by Postal Service

2.       I will possess your heart by Death cab for cutie

3.       The bad in each other by Feist

4.       All this and heaven too by Florence and the machine

5.       Please don’t say you love me by Gabrielle Aplin

6.       Ho hey by The Lumineers

7.       Collide by Howie Day

8.       Incredible by Joss Stone

9.       Suit & tie by Justin Timberlake ft. Jay Z

10.   You and me by Lifehouse

11.   Who’d have known by Lily Allen

12.   Touches you by Mika

13.   Black Ballons by Local Natives

14.   If you believe me by Relient K

15.   Never gonna give you up by Ricky Astley

16.   King of anything by Sara Bareilles

17.   The call by Regina Spektor

18.   Start a war by The National

19.   We are never getting back together by Taylor Swift

20.   Oh, Love! By William Beckett

21.   This kiss by Carly Ray Jepsen

22.  Little things by One Direction

23.   Remembering the first time we made love by Simply Red

Last but not least

24.   I don't wanna dance by Eddy Grant

25.   I can see clearly now  by Jimmy Cliff

Let me remind you that this list is a crazy mix I created inspired by the original SAD playlist. SAD has put together a beautiful list and the credit is all theirs.

Also, I have playlists for my stories... As you know already.

For my book 'Friendship of a special kind'

For my new story 'Image and Likeness'.

BTW, 3000 views and counting... Tomorrow: Meet Charlotte.

What can I say?... I love playlists ever since we had to spend a whole afternoon clicking pause/rec/play in our gigantic k7 microsystems.

Aw, darn. OLD, OLD ME!...

I feel like Jane Bennet

And it´s not a good thing...

I´m as sick as Jane.

This was my Mothers' day gift.

Hubs said I look good in it! And I love black!
And this was me during a power jog on Mothers's day - I HAD to try the shirt!

Oh, why did it have to rain on my parade jog?
Thanks Old fashioned charm for this gif, exactly what I needed.

And this is me now.

I just want to curl under my duvet... my head wieghts a ton...
I have a bad cold, my cheeks are starting to hurt: hello sinusitis! *groan*

Last weekend I watched 'No strings attached' and I thought so cute that Adam puts together a 'period mix' for Emma. It´s not a 'Darcy cute' thing, but a 'Bingley cute'. Cold + Jane + cute Bingley... I need a cold mix cd!

Don´t worry, it´s not a link for yet another playlist. Am too sick for that.

Doctor is OUT, Charlie Brown! You´re the wrong Charlie anyway...
I found some Fell better compilations online, but I´d like it to have Eurythmics, early Madonna, early REM, The Cure, The Smiths, some Wham! and a bit of Lulu Santos. Please!

You know what would be Mr Darcy cute? At least my Darcy? This:

BTW, I wish I was better so I could comment on my fave chappy of 'How Darcy persuaded Lizzy', but am not.

I'm going to bed. I feel awful.
See you soon?
